Collection of drawings belonging to the "Universal Dictionary of Natural History", published in Paris by Renard and Martinet in 1849. Considered one of the best natural history encyclopedias in the world. The drawings respond to the period in which they are made, all from a purely scientific and academic perspective, including mammals, insects, fish and plants, among others. Drawings made by French artists such as Susemihl, Travies, Oudart and Petre.
The plates do not include text, however, the order, genus and species is in each one, both in Latin and French.
